We had a blast at this wedding! Not only was it an absolute gorgeous fall day, this was one rockin' couple; a hilarious and fun pair! We were all smiles all day. Their ceremony took place in the gorgeous Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Detroit and the party continued at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. One of my favorite moments of the night had to be when the best man and bridesmaid sang their personal rendition of the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way". Took me back to the 90's and swooning over Nick Carter ;-) This being our last wedding of the 2011 season, it was a great way to end it! Enjoy their super fun trailer and highlights.

As I put together this film, I am reminded of how great my job is! I get to experience and capture so much LOVE! It is truly the greatest thing on earth and it's my job as a wedding cinematographer to capture, preserve and share that love with the world. I honestly couldn't ask for a better job! Adventures in Fiji

Bula! from Fiji... voted the happiest place on earth!! We traveled to Fiji back in November, and I would have to agree, it is the happiest place I've ever been! Truly the world's friendliest people and some of the most gorgeous landscape you'll find in the world. We stayed at the Koro Sun Resort & Spa (you may recognize it from last season of The Bachelorette). Yes, I'm admitting to watching the Bachelorette! The resort was great, with our own private villa & pool on a hill overlooking the ocean, I don't think it could get much better. The staff was awesome and we made friends instantly! It was a great trip, filled with fun, sun and adventure! Hope you enjoy the video and a small look into our week in Paradise.

I have to say that this was one of our favorite weddings of the year! No offense to any of our other couples, they have all been great!! But this wedding had something extra... We got to surprise the bride! I love surprises, and this one couldn't have gone any better! The bride had no idea we were going to be there to film her big day. She had contacted us previously but thought that she was unable to book us. Thanks to her awesome fiance, we were planning on being there all along. We showed up at the hotel where she was getting ready with our cameras in hand. Walking into the room and introducing ourselves as 516 Cinema was pretty exciting. The ensuing screams and tears let us know that we were very welcome :-) So with an awesome surprise, a down-to-earth, beautiful couple, a fun bridal party, a GORGEOUS venue and delicious food, we couldn't have asked for a better wedding! Congrats again to Brian & April, thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!

Ok, so I have to say...this wedding was one of my favorites of the year! Yao-chang and Shih-han were such an awesome couple to work with. I think I literally had a smile on my face the entire day! Ok, except for the 5 minutes we got poured on and thought our equipment may get ruined... but even that couldn't ruin the day. With such a great wedding party, super friendly, easygoing couple, some sweet 80's/90's music, the BEST food we have had a at venue (props to the Michigan League), my mouth is watering just thinking about how good it was, and a "mostly" gorgeous day... how could it not be an instant favorite? ;-) Take a look at their film and see for yourself.

At Five Sixteen, the majority of our work involves weddings (which we love, don't get me wrong)... but we also have a passion for creating films for non-profits and churches. We had the opportunity to create a documentary film for Grace Baptist Church, a new church plant in the city of Hamtramck. It was a amazing to see the diversity and culture in the city, as well as the poverty and despair. The need for a Christ-centered church in the city is clear and we were so excited to have the opportunity to help make that happen. We hope that by watching this film you can see some of the great things God is doing for this city!
